The Business Journal of Milwaukee: MLG drafting Park East high-rise plans
The Department of City Development continues to receive proposals for the Park East Redevelopment project. It was recently reported that MLG Development, Inc. has proposed to construct a 25-story, mixed-use high-rise on a 16,300-square-foot parcel east of the Milwaukee River. This parcel is bordered by North Water, North Edison, and East Knapp streets. This building will house retail on the ground floor and offices in the upper floors.
Downtown Milwaukee continues to see proposals for other high-rise buildings. The skyline is changing before our eyes.
JBK Properties, Inc. has proposed to construct a 43-story, mixed-use high-rise at the current US Bank building. This new tower will be the twin of the current tower and will house offices, hotel rooms, condominium units, and retail space.
Irgens Development Partners, has proposed to construct a 300,000-square-foot high-rise building that would be built where the parking structure currently stands for the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts.

The Business Journal of Milwaukee: New Land revises Downer plan to include hotel
Three times a charm! New Land Enterprises revised their plans for a development in the Downer neighborhood that will help revitalize this neighborhood and satisfy the resident's concerns. The $60 million investment will include a 75-room boutique hotel, condominium units, medical offices, bank, retail, and public parking. Residents of this neighborhood have fought this proposal from the very beginning - stating that the proposed 11-story building will not fit in with the area buildings. The 11-story building was originally proposed for the corner of North Stowell and Webster Place. New Land Enterprises hopes to begin construction in Summer 2007.

JSOnline: Lake Bluff apartments sold - Development purchased by Chicago firm
Sold! Lake Bluff at East Pointe! The Mandel Group decided to sell their 110-unit Lake Bluff apartments when low interest rates made rental properties less attractive and property sales more attractive. Lake Bluff was sold to Chicago investors for $27.5 million. It will be interesting to see if the Lake Bluff apartments will be converted into condominium ownership.

41st Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade – Saturday, March 10, 2007
Come celebrate St. Patrick's Day in downtown Milwaukee on Saturday, March 10. The parade starts at 12:00 noon at the corner of Old World Third Street and Wisconsin Avenue.
During the week of the parade, visit other festive events in the area.
Be sure to visit Miller Time Pub on Friday, March 9 for ShamROCK, Westown Association's kickoff event.
The Shops of Grand Avenue will offer free Irish entertainment, Wednesday through Friday, 11:30am - 1:00pm.
