The Business Journal of Milwaukee: New Land revises Downer plan to include hotel

Three times a charm! New Land Enterprises revised their plans for a development in the Downer neighborhood that will help revitalize this neighborhood and satisfy the resident's concerns. The $60 million investment will include a 75-room boutique hotel, condominium units, medical offices, bank, retail, and public parking. Residents of this neighborhood have fought this proposal from the very beginning - stating that the proposed 11-story building will not fit in with the area buildings. The 11-story building was originally proposed for the corner of North Stowell and Webster Place. New Land Enterprises hopes to begin construction in Summer 2007. Pete Millard, writer for The Business Journal of Milwaukee, writes more about this development and its impact on the Downer Avenue economy>>>
