Business Journal of Milwaukee: Downtown parking push

Real estate developers and commercial brokers say incentives are needed to provide the public with cheaper and more plentiful parking in downtown Milwaukee. This movement was established as a result of the city's recent decision to create a tax-incremental financing district to provide for a parking structure for Manpower, Inc. Real estate professionals have raised concerns with the city that the office market will continue to stagnate unless the parking issue is addressed. Proponents have raised two solutions to the growing problem: Form a parking fund to lessen parking costs for companies moving downtown and to create a parking authority to administer parking structures in key locations.
