Riverwest Currents: Closing the Gap - UWM housing proposal brings Beerline Trail closer to reality

Finally...Good news for student housing!

Pending environmental studies and federal approval, developers are planning to build a six-story, 470-bed student apartment building located on North Avenue near the Milwaukee River. This comes during a time of numerous conversions from apartments to condominiums. The target group for this development is University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) students. Between this new development and the new Kenilworth Building located near Kenilworth and Prospect Avenue, UWMs student housing capacity will be approximately 3,100 students. The university serves approximately 28,000 students. Michael Timm, a writer for Riverwest Currents, provides more details about this new development. Click here to read the entire article>>>
