OnMilwaukee.com: Tandem Developers unveil Beerline's The Edge condos
The Edge: The Latest Development on Commerce StreetTandem Developers, based in Chicago, has announced the unveiling of their latest development in downtown Milwaukee. Since the late-1990's, Tandem has contributed to the residential growth of this city, especially in the Brewer's Hill neighborhood.
The Edge will consist of two, five-and-a-half-story, twin buildings located on the banks of the Milwaukee River, east of the Holton Street viaduct. This development will contain 16 different floor plans with prices starting under $200,000.
Commerce Street and the Beerline neighborhood have sparked a great deal of criticism as of late in regards to how the city of Milwaukee has allowed this small area to grow so fast. One of the complaints neighborhood residents have voiced relates to the fact that developers have built too much along the river. Many have criticized the city for not doing enough to protect the banks of the Milwaukee River - to make it accessible for all to enjoy.
Tandem has heard the criticism and has made it a priority to provide open spaces around The Edge - including a new riverwalk, a courtyard, and a riverfront park.
