The Business Journal of Milwaukee: Parking lots make downtown Milwaukee prime real estate

Did you know that there are more than two dozen surface parking lots in Downtown Milwaukee which occupy nearly 40 acres? These parking lots are invaluable. Some say that these lots provide Downtown Milwaukee with nearly hundreds of millions of dollars in future real estate development. Commercial developers are already keeping a close eye on these parking lots - especially those that are located east of the Milwaukee River.

According to the article, the three most valuable parking lots are found along the Milwaukee River (near the corner of Water and McKinley). One of these parking lots is already under contract for a mixed-use office building, along with retail, hospitality, and entertainment venues.
