Business Journal of Milwaukee: 'Ugly' buildings don't scare Kendall Breunig - Architectural engineer sees the potential in abandoned, old structures
Meet Kendall Breunig.
Breunig is a principal of Sunset Investors and president of Breunig Engineering.
As an architectural engineer, he is responsible for improving the look of underused, unappreciated buildings.
His resume includes the Commission House Condominiums in the Historic Third Ward as well as his latest project, Pritzlaff Hardware Co. site.
The Hack/Pritzlaff building which is located on the corner of
West Saint Paul and
North Plankinton avenues is a $40 million renovation project.
Sunset bought the building in 2005 for $3 million.
The Hack/Pritzlaff site will consist of 40,000 square feet of first-floor retail, 75,000 square feet of office and 80 apartments.
Sunset Investors is also renovating 83,000 square feet of office space on the third and fifth floors of the
Plankinton Building above The Shops of Grand Avenue.
